About the project
S E N J A Hamnveien 772, Skaland Senja 120 m2 BYA.
The client wanted a family cabin with a panoramic view of Senja's wonderful mountains and nature.
In such a beautiful and vulnerable landscape, it is important to build with nature and create a project that feels like part of the landscape.
Concept: "Rock with a view" By searching in old Sami building traditions, we found Hellere, which are stones under which houses were built. By shaping the body of the building like a stone with natural lines in relation to the mountains, a large panoramic window could be created in this shape. The project will then be a "rock with a view" that fits naturally into the terrain - hidden from the road by forest.

The family gathers at the dinner table with a view of the mountains - the lines between inside and outside are blurred and the room changes in line with the light and weather. You are part of nature.
